Calendar-aware calculation

Leap years and different month lengths are handled using real calendar dates.
| Use | What to enter | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Age today | Date of birth + today | Shows your current exact age. |
| Assessment age | Date of birth + test date | Useful where age norms depend on the test date. |
| School cut-off | Date of birth + cut-off date | Checks exact age on the required date. |
| Future milestone | Date of birth + future date | Shows how old someone will be on that date. |
What is chronological age?
Chronological age is the amount of calendar time that has passed between a person's date of birth and a reference date. It is normally written in completed years, months and days. For example, 12 years, 4 months and 9 days can be written as 12;4;9.
Using a specific reference date matters for school admissions, testing, applications and other age-based checks. If a form says “age on 31 August”, use 31 August as the Age as of date rather than today's date.
Age Calculator by Date of Birth
This chronological age calculator uses your date of birth and a reference date to calculate your exact age in completed years, months and days. You can use it as a DOB calculator, exact age calculator, birthday age calculator, or an age-as-of-date calculator for school, university, job, sports, insurance and application deadlines.
Unlike a simple year-only age checker, this calculator uses real calendar dates, so leap years and different month lengths are taken into account.
How to Calculate Chronological Age
Enter your date of birth, then choose the date you want to calculate your age on. The calculator first counts completed years, then completed calendar months, and finally the remaining days.
For example, an exact age may be shown as 18 years, 7 months and 12 days, or in Y;M;D format as 18;7;12.
Exact Age in Years, Months and Days
The result includes more than just your current age. It also shows your exact chronological age, total completed months, total weeks, total days lived, decimal age, weekday of birth and your next birthday countdown.
