A fresh password for every account.
Create random passwords with your browser's cryptographic random-number generator. Choose a length and character sets, then copy the result into your password manager.
This generator does not send or save generated passwords. Copying places the password on your device clipboard. Use Clear after saving it securely.
How to make a strong random password
- Start with 20 characters, or adjust the length to the account's requirements.
- Keep the character sets the website accepts. Every selected set appears at least once.
- Generate a unique password for each account and save it in your password manager.
A longer randomly generated password gives more possible combinations. Reusing a password on several websites undermines that protection: one breached service can expose the others. Use multi-factor authentication where available.
Frequently asked questions
How are the passwords generated?
The tool uses the browser's Web Crypto API, not Math.random(). It selects uniformly from your allowed characters and regenerates candidates until every selected character set is represented.
Can I create a password without symbols?
Yes. Untick Symbols and leave letters and numbers enabled. Follow the requirements shown by the website where you will use the password.
Why does my password change when I change a setting?
The old result clears when settings change, so it cannot be mistaken for a password made with the new settings. Select Generate password again.
Is an 8-character password recommended?
Eight characters is supported for compatibility, not recommended as a general target. Prefer the default 20 characters or a longer length when the service permits it.
